Journey To The Southeast of Sabah

Trip To Tawau (30.07.2010-01.08.2010)

Southeast of Sabah??? It is Tawau...Place where I lived...hehehe...

Our Primary Goal is to collect data of the project site for our thesis title (pre-survey).
Secondary Goal is to gain experience travelling alone, enjoying weekend holiday & celebrating a Durian festival.=.="

Apparently, the primary goal is never been achieved coz the lack of data itself, bad time management, and some other reasons.huhuhu =.="
The good thing is we r enjoying the Durian Festival...kewl...

But, we surely got the best experience eva...at least we got somethin' to tell the others....hehe..
and oso got some souvenirs here...hoho....

There r 5 of us, Joe,BD,Givas,Dimas, & Eric Mafia...

time used:2PM-3AM (13 hours of travel!!!)
Resting place :

~yup...we stop at several place to rest, n keep switching our driver since all of us can drive a car... we had stop at ranau, sandakan checkpoint, semporna checkpoint, kunak, tawau highway, sukaramai (ada checking!!!) huhuhu....we r lucky not being given a summon by the police...hohoho.....lucky us...
Lesson for the day:
1.dun forget to put a signal b4 u turn right.
2.dun drive in slowmotion when u r about to turn direction...
3.dun let ur guard down juz bcoz it is late in the morning...somethin' fishy about it...hoho..

~we arrive at my home about 3am....eat some durians then sleep...hoho, sempat lgi kunun =.=".wake up at 9am 2morrow morning...panat beii =.=" waiting 4 my father to pick us up & show the direction to Balung River Plantation...spend about 3-4 hours getting information needed....but not much can be used to initiate our project....hmmm....huhuhu....such a waste...
what we gonna tell to our supervisor then?! probably gonna changed our project title. Well, after that we went to the town, spend some time at Persiaran Traulsen....take pic & go home...~packing, sleep, fb....dot dot dot.....& at 4am early on the sunday morning, start the engine & headed back to UMS.....it's a short journey yet we enjoy it afterall....daa...

PALMEX Conference

PALMEX Conference (29.07.2010)

a "must attend" program for my course.....on that day, all of us wear a fully formal shirt?!! wth?

Datuk-Datuk, Yb, YAB or whatever....haha...

Palmex Malaysia 2010, Sabah, organized by Fireworks Event (M) Sdn Bhd, held on the 29-31 July 2010
at Sabah Trade Centre (STC), Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. (http://poic.com.my/)

We go there on 28 of July (Thursday)...

DO YOU KNOW WHAT PALMEX stands for??!

Palm Oil Expo (Palmex) Malaysia 2010 is the industry event for both upstream and downstream palm oil companies in the region. This international event is projected to bring together more than 6,000 industry professionals to address the strategic, operational and technology aspects of the Sabah and Asean's palm oil industry.

The international character of Palmex 2010 presents unparalleled marketing, education and networking opportunities. Palmex Malaysia 2010 offers you the ideal platform to explore new palm oil related business opportunities, expand your market presence and penetrate emerging markets in Sabah, Malaysia.( Credited to http://poic.com.my/)

According to POIC in their website, many experts are pointing fingers at palm oil companies at the lack of effort in "Going-Green" when creating palm oil estates in Malaysia. As for my oppinion, it is bcoz of the decreasing of natural forest due to establishment of oil-palm plantation. As u can think, oil-palm is not a forest tree...So, this event perhaps is a good opportunity to educate the regional and local public by showcasing the stringent policies that your company implements to protect the environment.

A lot of companies has participate....features a lot of new technologies of oil-palm industry related...
So cool though.....hoho....

FISH MASSAGE (Kg. Luanti)

Shophouse for visitors...

On the 13th of July, I and my parents had visited this place of interest; Kg.Luanti at "Tagal" Sungai Moroli, Ranau...It is 131 kilometers from Kota Kinabalu (about 2 hours and 40 minutes drive away) & located around 30minutes drive from Ranau Town and it is located just beside the Sabah Tea plantation in Ranau. U can identify it by looking for the signboard....Quite big...hoho...

This place give a service of fish massage "spa"...
I been told that most of the fish in the river is Pelian, Kelah, Turongou species. ~But mostly seen is Pelian.

there is to many of it...

In the Local Kadazandusun dialect, ‘tagal’ means ‘no fishing’, and the main purpose of the ‘tagal’ is to preserve the environment as well as the ecosystem to benefit the future generation. ‘Ikan Pelian’ or Malaysian Mahseer comes from the family of Cyprinidae (Sabah Tourism Board, 2010).

These fishes are specifically trained by the villagers to perform the healing massage activities. The ticket fee (if i'm not mistaken la...lupa2 jgk ni..hehe..for local is RM5 for adult and Rm2 for Kids). This ticket is juz for 15minutes of fish biting experience which is a new awesome feeling to try.

It is a very interesting moment and experience to be there...u should go there too as well.

The way the fish give a massage to u, the fish bite ur skin, toes...and even when u feed them...they eventually absorb voraciously... woow... ~kewl dude...

i forgot about the price for other activity...~but they do have camping, karaoke, & jungle trekking...

here some picture that i can SHOW TO U...

Bamboo stage....(for karaoke??! event?)

Bamboo house available for rental...

So many ~~Pelian...

Cool yes?!!!

Eat!!! Eat!!! Eat my hand! ~huhuhu (-.-")

~voraciously eaten...

How was it? interesting? come visit lor~~ hehe...
